Jennifer Kelber: Let Your Light Shine Through
"Don't ever be afraid to tell someone your dreams, because dreams they really do come
true," Jennifer Kelber sings on "Let Your Light Shine Through" a children's CD that
Jennifer has just released. This song, like others, expresses Jennifer's determination to
share the message "Follow Your Dreams", which is precisely what Jennifer is doing. So
many children have developed an "I can never do that" attitude. The songs Jennifer has
written help children believe in themselves and gives inspiration to children and adults
alike.
Jennifer always loved to sing. She started playing piano at age of 5, but found it difficult to sing while playing. So at 14, Jennifer took up guitar and it was "love at first sight." It was then that she started to write music. "It came so naturally to me, to play guitar, write music and sing." Jennifer explains. She was spending every available moment playing and writing. "I was playing for hours a day until my sore fingers made me stop." she says. Jennifer was influenced by a father and brother who both played in a classical orchestra. Jennifer adds that a close family friend always played classics from artists such as Peter, Paul and Mary, John Denver and Karen Carpenter, which gave the much needed balance for her love for music.
Over the years Jennifer continued playing her music in churches, small venues and for family and friends. In 2001, Jennifer became certified to teach children's yoga. Jennifer has been teaching children yoga for over 5 years and through the connection she had with children, her mission in life grew into not only teaching children, but to inspire and mentor them into making their dreams come true. Her inspiration to her songs came while teaching children. Jennifer feels that with this CD, she can reach more children with her message...not to give up on their dreams. She hopes one day to be on Oprah and like all her other dreams she has had, this one too will come true. In the meantime, Jennifer spends most of her time continuing to teach children yoga at her studio and performing her music wherever she can. If Jennifer could only achieve one thing in life, it is to be able to enrich children's SPIRITS and let them see that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
